RFID RP40 multiCLASS Reader - iCLASS & Prox

The RP40 is a multi-technology card reader designed for customers upgrading their current card system from HID Prox to iCLASS® credentials. With the RP40 reader, the customer has the ability to transition to smart cards over time while incorporating the use of multiple card technologies within a single building or across multiple facilities.
Unlike contactless smart card serial number readers, with the RP40 multiCLASS™ reader, you get enhanced security through mutual authentication and data encryption.

Unique Read Selection

• iCLASS Only – the reader will only read and output data from an iCLASS credential

• Prox Only – the reader will only read and output data from an Prox credential

• iCLASSv Preferred – when a multi-technology card is presented, the reader will only read and output
iCLASS data.

• Prox Preferred – when a multi-technology card is presented, the reader will only read and output Prox data

• Universal – when a multi-technology card is presented, the reader will read and output both iCLASS and
Prox data with duplicate numbers suppressed.


Seamless Upgrade

• Same iCLASS reader features and are interchangeable for reading iCLASS credentials.
